The S.T.E.P. Grant (Students Transforming Tobacco Education & Policy) gives $2,500 to youth-led groups for their leadership, creativity, and advocacy. The grant supports your group, while giving you the opportunity to design a project to educate and engage city councils about tobacco-free policies, like Tobacco Retail Licensing (TRL).

Your group proposes a creative way to present ideas about tobacco-free policies to the city council. Ideas could include a presentation, video, art exhibit, social media campaign, or other innovative approach. You do not need to have the project fully developed yet—just explain your concept.
We will review all submissions and select the most creative, clear, and impactful idea.
Winning groups develop their project into a presentation or campaign for the city council.
Your group shares your developed project with the Eureka and Arcata city councils to highlight the benefits of tobacco-free policies like TRL.
The $2,500 grant is awarded to your group, supporting your team’s growth, activities, or club initiatives.
Your project helps make your community healthier, while your group is recognized and supported with the grant.
